2015, A New Start

We're Back! (Yay)

Welcome to 456 Su Nei Cieli for 2015.

It's been a wonderful beginning for the new learning community, formed from new friends, familiar faces, and some enthusiastic, excited students.

from L: Wendy, Suzanne, Julie and Steve, Homegroup teachers

Teaching Staff in 2015.

As most families would be aware, there has been some changes for Su Nei Cieli in 2015.

Julie (our team leader), Steve and Suzanne have remained in the community. Teachers Bec, Chiara and Dani are in next door, working in Il Nido with Jenny.

Joining us on a teacher exchange from Canada is Wendy. Wendy is an experienced teacher who brings a lot of curiosity and diverse viewpoints which will be a welcome addition to us this year. Another addition to the team has been Chris. He is a former member of the BEPS community, returning two days a week who has enlightened us with some interesting stories of our grade 6's who he taught in grade 1!

Rachel is a Learning Community Assistant  this year, who will be working with small groups and supporting students learning. She will be working with both Il Nido and Su Nei Cieli.

Resilience.

What does it mean to you?
What value does it have for individuals?, for communities?

What is resilience? students brainstorm
What is resilience? a mind map

Su Nei Cieli will begin to explore this concept and its relationship to our lives and the life of our communities in more depth this year, filtered through the lenses of our personal behavior and resilience to change, how people have historically responded with resilience. If you want to know more, or could contribute to this inquiry in some way, get in touch with your home group teacher.

Diaries.

To further support our students to become resilient, lifelong (and more independently organized) learners, we have introduced diaries. Each day students are encouraged to use them to support them to be more responsible for organizing themselves; returning notes, putting in important dates to remember etc.
