Dear Parents and Carers,
Students have come back refreshed and motivated for another term of learning. Yet again, it promises to be an exciting term with lots happening.
Already old news for some parents, our 5/6 students participated in a Transition Program at Brunswick Secondary College earlier this week. All students had the opportunity to share their experiences with other students in our Home Group meeting. Highlights seemed to be the orientation activity, following a map around the high school, dance class – Hip Hop of course, and the school canteen – access to food that they don’t normally get during a school day. Lets say, some kids were buzzing when they returned!
Speaking of food, another exciting thing happening this term is the Battle of the Bowls! Students have signed up in teams of 3. Two teams will be drawn out each week, and will be given a week to research and prepare for cooking their chosen dish. Two of the teams will also be drawn out as the Judges, who will rate teams’ dishes according to taste, presentation and effort.
As an added challenge, a secret ingredient (or category) will also be drawn out each week, which both teams must include. We’ll endeavour to cook with produce from our school’s kitchen garden where possible. It’s great to see the kitchen is heating up!

Tissues
The colder weather is upon us and already many students have been looking for tissues at school. We ask if every family could please donate a box of tissues to carry us through the winter months.
All the best,
